Cycling event raises funds to support diabetes research, local programming, and advocacy efforts
The American Diabetes Association® (ADA) is thrilled to host the 2025 Tour de Cure®: Texas at Community Beer Company in Dallas on Saturday, October 25. This cycling event raises funds so the ADA can fight for all people living with diabetes—one of the fastest growing chronic diseases in the world.
It's estimated that Nearly 3 million adults in Texas are living with diagnosed diabetes, and every year, an estimated 228,000 adults in the state are diagnosed with diabetes.
"The fight to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes, drives everything we do. From advancing research to advocating for the diabetes community, this mission fuels meaningful action. The Tour de Cure is a powerful expression of the ADA’s commitment, bringing people together to create a healthier future for our communities,” said Jennifer Bowring, the ADA’s executive director in the North Texas market.
Tour de Cure is an opportunity for individuals, corporations, and organizations to come together to help the ADA increase awareness, provide vital programs, fund lifesaving research, and work toward a cure.
At the ride, participants are invited to enjoy:
- Three well-supported bike routes for riders of all abilities
- Catered breakfast and lunch
- Beer garden
- Live performance by Grammy-nominated country music artist, Pauline Reese
- Kid Zone with games and crafts
- Engaging with others who share a passion and purpose to end diabetes
Americans with diabetes have medical expenses approximately 2.6 times higher than those without and can develop serious health complications. Events such as Tour de Cure are crucial for raising awareness and providing resources to support those living with diabetes.
